A Guide to Alaskan Tourist Sights
What do you do when you are in Alaska? You might not know this but Alaks had 3000 rivers and 3 million lakes. You can also find 17 or the 20 highest peaks in the US in Alaska. So, there are indeed many sights to see here. If you take a vacation in Alaska, here are some things that you can do.
You might be interested in visiting the Mendenhall Glacier. Most people stay in the visitor’s center where they can have a good view of the glacier. In this center you are kept warm and the view of the glacier is clean and shleterd. You can also follow the trails to get a closer look at the glacier and experience the local wildlife as well.

Alaks also has their Denali National Park. It is the highest peak in North America which reaches 20, 310 feet. You can take a bus tour through the national park where you will see wolves, grizzlies, caribous, Dall sheep, mice, and more. Here you wil find natural sights like tundras, lakes and rivers, and unique geological formations.
Perhaps you have dreamed of seeing the northern lights. You now have a chance to see it in its reality. You can simply gaze up and marvel at the northern lights on a clear night. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you.
You can also go biking along the Cook Inlet Arm which is a long coastal trail. It is really worth trying this biking experience which you can complete in a whole day.
If you are interested in marine life, then the Kenai Fjords Day Cruise is for you. Puffins, orcas, otters, harbor seals, Minke whales, Dall’s porpoises, etc., are abundant in this place. Incredible mountain scens and tidewater glaciers are great subjects for your photographs.
The Sitka National Historical Park is the oldest national park in Alaska. Here you can learn many things about totem poles, native artifacts, temperate rainforests, and beaches.
If you want to see ice sculptures, visit the Aurora Ice Museum. They also have a village theater where you can watch nightly aurora shows.
Salmon fishing is something you should not miss in Alaska. Try catching your dinner from the banks of several Alaskan rivers. They have salmon charters or you can also get a fishing license from the Alaska Dept of Fish and Game if you want to fish on your own.
There are other things to do in Alaska like visiting the ghost town of Kennicott and Wrangell St Elias National Park, seeing the shifting sands of Kobuk Valley National Park, and visiting the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, but the activities mentioned above is enough to entice you to come and visit Alaska.
