So friends. Someone had written something about “On the buttocks hangs the percussion device”? Agrees. I just have to let off steam.
We live in an apartment on the ground floor, which includes an attic room. According to the rental agreement, the area of this attic room “expressly belongs to the living space”. Now today the doorknob of the door to this attic room has broken off me. Yes exactly, that’s how I looked. I’ve never had anything like that. Door is closed, opening and locking is still possible, but you can no longer open the door.
Yes, I thought to myself. My tools are in there. And I have to travel on business on Sunday. Yes shitterle. So I called the landlord: There the employee told me to make an appointment with company XY. Asked about the business trip and the necessity of access, it was then said that a locksmith service was already expensive. Therefore, please call the caretaker first, maybe he can open the door. He was supposed to work until 5 p.m.
Caretaker, of course, did not go to it. Home Maintenance Only once did I get through to the headquarters of the caretaker service: They only told me that you could not guarantee that it would still be something today. We didn’t even listen to what it was all about. So after a few attempts at the caretaker call the landlord again.
And as if all this wasn’t bad enough, I get farted there: The janitors are only on duty until 4 pm, what I would tell there, such nonsense! So I let myself be farted at and then point out: I have to go in there at the weekend, come what may. Passive-aggressive reply: Well, I could call the locksmith. In any case, it is not an emergency, I have to pay for it myself.
Excuse me? I think it hacks!! First you write in the crazy lease that the room belongs to the naked living space. Then you sneeze at me for no reason, because I give you a probably wrong info I have from YOU! And now it’s not an emergency that I don’t have access to part of my apartment?! What?!?
It is absolutely clear to me that nobody can do anything about this latch breaking off. Neither the woman there, nor moi. But I pointed out that I urgently need equipment from the room. And I explained that I have no access to the stupid room, to which I need access and that I am not to blame. Lick me fat ey.
So again everything explained in detail, including the part with: “This belongs to the living space, which I can not use completely.” Well, after all, how merciful: The lady calls the locksmith with the statement: “Then they should decide that.” A short time later, the locksmith service answers: What is going on. So everything explained again. Well, basically they can’t decide that, of course. But it is not an emergency. But, I say, explain everything and even quote from the lease whose scan I had picked out. (SERVICE MESSAGE: Scan your contracts! Guess where the original was… Exactly.)
Hm yes. Then the lady from the locksmith would have to clarify this with the boss. A promise that the landlord pays, she could definitely not give me. Well, it’s clear that she can’t give me a statement about someone else’s money. After all, she seems to be the first to even try to understand my argument: Ten minutes later comes the announcement that someone is coming by, she has now decided so. On Monday, she wanted to deal with the landlord regarding the payment.
In the meantime, someone was there to take care of it. Of course, getting the door open was only about half a move for him. However, he then had to change the entire lock, which looked like quite a poop work. But at least everything works again and I get my things and everything is fine. First big tip given, the guy has imagined the Friday evening yes also differently.
And on Monday I write the whole sermon to the tenants’ association. No emergency my ass.
Edit: As /u/kommsagwas has taught me in the meantime, handles are part of the “smallest repair clause”, which of course also exists in my contract. Well, I didn’t know, learned something again – then I’m probably pinched. Let’s see how things go on. Continue to enjoy my tirade and have a better start to the weekend than me! 😉
